Elisabeth P. Hardiman DVM, Co-Owner
Dr. Hardiman grew up in Birmingham but began her professional career in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, where she worked summers at the Gulfarium Marine Park. She was a diver in the Living Sea Show and also part of the animal care staff assisting renowned marine mammal specialist, Dr. Forest Townsend. He encouraged Elisabeth to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Hardiman received her B.S. degree from Birmingham-Southern College in 2005 and graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Her first job as a veterinarian was at Dr. Townsend’s vet hospital in Fort Walton Beach. She worked there for six years, treating aquatic animals and four-legged patients.
In 2016, Dr. Hardiman accepted a position with a veterinary hospital in Huntsville and quickly became involved in professional and cultural associations. She is a general board member and second Vice Chair for the North Alabama Zoological Society, working to establish a local zoo and research facility. She is a member of the Madison County Veterinary Medical Association, as well as the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, and AAFP (American Association of Feline Practitioners). She joined Midtown Veterinary Practice as co-owner in November 2021.
Dr. Hardiman and her husband have two young boys, Reed and Pete. But their “first child” is a mixed-breed rescue dog named Tucker. Dr. Hardiman loves the special, long-term relationships she gets to build with her furry patients and their owners. Her family loves hiking and biking the beautiful trails in and around Huntsville, the high quality of restaurants and coffee shops, and abundant sports activities.
Elizabeth Harvill DVM, Co-Owner
Dr. Harvill has been interested in animal care from a young age. As a teenager, the combination of working at a small animal clinic and watching her dad sell medical supplies blossomed her passion for veterinary practice.
With a particular love for staying current in the latest veterinary medical practices, Dr. Harvill’s professional interests also include exotic animal medicine–specifically avian, small mammal, and reptile. She also has a background in internal medicine, dermatology, and palliative care. For Dr. Harvill, the most satisfying part of being a veterinarian is the connection that she makes between clients and their pets.
Dr. Harvill is from Homewood, Alabama. She first attended Auburn University, majoring in zoology and graduating in 2009. She then graduated from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. She is a member of a variety of medical associations such as the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association, and the Madison County Veterinary Medical Association.
Outside the practice, Dr. Harvill loves spending time outdoors and biking. She also enjoys traveling and live music. Dr. Harvill and her husband have two sons, Gray and JP. They also have three other members of their family: Rosie, a Staffordshire Terrier, Gertie, a Terrier mix, and Purrcy, a domestic shorthair cat.
Rebecca P. Jarrell DVM
Dr. Jarrell was born and raised in Tennessee. Her passion for veterinary medicine grew while she volunteered and worked in small animal clinics through high school and college. She attended the University of Tennessee Knoxville and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in animal science in 2013. She then attended Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2017.
Dr. Jarrell joined Midtown Veterinary Practice in April 2023. Before that, she worked in emergency medicine. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association.
She and her husband have two young daughters, Madeline and Savannah. They share their home with two dogs, Ellie and Duke, and one cat, Leo. In her spare time, Dr. Jarrell enjoys hiking, snowboarding, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.
